Unisex khadi kurta and drawstring pant

$52.00

Khadi is a term for handspun and hand-woven cloth which are all spun into yarn on a spinning wheel called a charkha. It is a versatile fabric, cool in summer and warm in winter.

In India, Khadi is not just a cloth, it is a whole movement started by Gandi. The Khadi movement promoted an ideology, an idea that Indians could be self-reliant on cotton and be free from the high priced goods and clothes which the British were selling to them. The khadi movement aimed at boycotting foreign goods including cotton and promoting Indian goods, thereby improving India's economy.

This khadi kurta— casual wear for comfort or a sophisticated evening— has fine silk-like lustre and beauty, and technically, a fine surface with per inch count being very high. It is in its simplicity that this piece discovers its beauty and distinction.

Our drawstring pants are a thicker cotton, with button closure and drawstring waist. Can be paired with our kurta for dress or worn for relaxation, yoga and meditation practice.
